The Hardin County Cattle Producers will hold their annual Beef Banquet on Saturday, March 28 in the Community Building at the fairgrounds, starting at 6 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $13, while tickets at the door will be $15. 2014 Hardin County Junior Fair Beef Barn Exhibitors tickets are FREE with a reservation given by calling the OSU Extension office at 419-674-2297 or through any Cattle Producers Director by March 20th. Children 6 and under are also admitted free.

The Bluffton Paving Co., bid of $1.3 million for the Klingler Road improvement project was accepted by Ada village council Tuesday night. The Bluffton firm was the lowest of eight bids.
The road improvement will extend from the railroad tracks south to Lima Avenue, about half a mile in length. The old surface will be taken up and the new road will be wider, going from the present 19 foot width to 28 feet.
The project calls for curbing and storm sewer modifications, including a retention basin.
A sidewalk will be installed on the west side for the entire length of the new roadway. Lighting will be added, as well.
Here's the latest on spring soccer in Ada. It's from the Ada Soccer Association Facebook, posted by Mark Light:
"This is the current state of the soccer fields. The coaches now have their rosters, but probably will not be able to start practice until the fields are a little drier.
"Also we are waiting for a dirt pile to be removed from the driveway so that we may get to the fields. Please have patience with these roadblocks to spring soccer."
Ada Cub Scouts recently had an musical experience to remember.
The Scouts were introduced to steel drums by Dr. Sarah Waters, who teaches applied percussion, steel drum band, percussion ensemble, conducting, African and American Music at Ohio Northern University.
Dr. Waters described the steel drums to Ada Cub Scouts (from left) Alex Rockhill, Tristen Dalton, Dylan Hartman, Connor Daugherty, Robby Waters, Xander Wells and Roman Snyder.
Her own steel drum experience includes being a member of the “All-Star Steel Drum Band,” which performed at PASIC in Austin, Texas.
The Red Cross bloodmobile surpassed its goal of 29 units, with the help of Curtis Engelhardt (pictured). Thirty-two units were given by individuals with an hour to go before "closing up shop" for the day. The "five o'clock rush" had begun. All four beds were in use. It takes about an hour to give blood. Community Health Professionals hosted the visit. The Junior Civic League provided sandwiches, cookies, and drinks to the donors afterwards. Various clubs in town provide these items for each bloodmobile visit. The bloodmobile visits Ada every two months. Next visit is 11:30 a.m.
