ONU senior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) has been named the Div. III All-Ohio Female Runner of the Year for the 2017 season.
Richards was named the Runner Up at both the OAC Championships and at the Div. III Great Lakes Regional meets, before going on to be named an All-American at the 2017 Div. III National Championships. She earned the OAC Runner of the Year honor for the first time in her career.
The senior posted a ninth place finish at the National Championships in a career-best time of 21:02, two seconds off of the school record of 21:00 by Alison (Steinbrunner) Kwiat in 2012.
The Blair and Cindy Rorabaugh home on Christopher Circle includes many new cutouts decorating their yard for Christmas this year. Cindy did the sawing using patterns from Jane Helser. Blair installed the creation. Grandsons Aaron, 8, and Andrew, 12, did the painting. The Rorabaughs are familiar with snow, having served a Nazarene church in Alaska before retiring to Ada.

The Ada Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a new organization for any high school student in the county. The Key Club focuses on leadership and service.
The teen club has helped at Crock Pot Tuesday at Ada ReStore, and last weekend members helped wrap presents during the ReStore shopping spree. Previously, Key Club members made blankets for the OSU Extension Office blanket project.
Officers are Elizabeth Heintz, president; Brittani Combs, vice president; Haley Hunt, secretary; Olivia Brown, club editor; and Maria Espinoza, webmaster. Jennifer Rogers is advisor.
Senior Cyler Caldwell (Wadsworth) has been named a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America First Team Academic All-American football team for the 2017 season.
After being named First Team Academic All-District 7 by CoSIDA, Caldwell earned a spot on the ballot for Academic All-America honors, where he became the first Polar Bear since Andy Roecker in 1997 to be named a First Team Academic All-American.
Junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 4-10.
Bruns led the Polar Bears (5-2 overall, 3-0 OAC) to a perfect 2-0 week in the conference, including a win over Mount Union that moved ONU into first place in the conference standings.
The junior earned the honor for the first time in his career after averaging a double-double during the week with 27.0 points per contest and 10.0 rebounds per game.
