ADA - The host Ada volleyball team ran into streaking juggernaut Crestview and lost to the Northwest Conference leader in straight sets Thursday night.
Crestview improved to 10-4 and stayed atop the NWC at 6-0 with their ninth consecutive victory. All of the Knight losses were to MAC powers.
The 25-16, 25-15, 25-6 defeat dropped the Lady Bulldog overall record to 7-9 overall and 1-5 in NWC play. It was their seventh match in 12 days.
Michael Harnishfeger, Ada police chief, issues a scam warning today on the Ada Police Facebook.
He wrote that while reviewing several cases that have come into the police department he noticed that several residents have fallen victim to online or phone scams.
Here’s the police department's advice to residents:
It seems like every day I receive one or two phone calls that start by asking me to "please do not hang up." This is my instant cue to hang up.
I have found that hanging up on any, even remotely, suspicious call is the best way to keep my information safe and protect myself from identity theft.
The Kenton Hardin Health Department will hold a drive-thru flu shot clinic this weekend. Check the map below for the traffic flow proceedure.
It is Saturday, Oct. 3, in the parking lot under the Health Department in Kenton and the hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Flue shots are given without persons leaving their vehicles.

Icon viewers experienced a 49-degree temperature range in September, with a low of 38 degrees on Sept. 19 and a high of 87 degrees on Sept. 8.
Despite that wide temperature gap, the average September 2020 temperature was 64.8 degrees, compared to the normal average September temperature of 64.1, according to Guy Verhoff, U.S. weather observer in Pandora.
September 2020 had 1.58 inches of rain, lower than the normal September average of 2.96 inches. Only seven days in September registered either a trace or more of precipitation. The heaviest rain was 0.73 inches on Sept. 7, Labor Day.
