Lady Bulldog spikers seeded 4th; boys’ soccer 8th; girls’ soccer 10th

The Ada volleyball team was seeded fourth at the Ottawa-Glandorf district Div. IV drawings held Sunday.

Ada (15-6) will host sixth seed Pandora-Gilboa in first round tournament play Tuesday, October 18 at 6 p.m. 

The winner then visits third-seeded Hardin Northern, which received a first round bye, on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. in the district quarterfinals.

Ada did not play P-G this season, but lost 2-0 at county rival Hardin Northern September 3. McComb is the top seed in the 13-team O-G district, while Leipsic is seeded second.

The Bulldogs have won 12 of their last 13 matches since the loss to HN.

The Ada Elementary School invites K-3 parents to its Fall Literacy Night on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 7-7:30.

Parents will begin in the cafeteria discussing some literacy assessments, then they will see a day in the life of students in the classroom with the classroom teachers.

Parents are asked to notify your student's teacher if you plan to attend.

Seth Conley completes 24 of 36 passes; 4 TD passes

Fueled by another outstanding performance from quarterback Seth Conley, the Bulldogs claimed their third straight victory, going on the road to beat the Paulding Panthers 49-20. 

Conley was effective both through the air and on the ground, tallying 413 yards of total offense and six touchdowns.  The win moves Ada to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Northwest Conference.

Ronald D. Kindle, 70, died on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at 6:06 a.m. at Lima Rehab and Nursing Center, Lima.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1945 in Dola, Ohio, to George L. and Beatrice E. (Eikenberry) Kindle who preceded him in death.  He was previously married to Patsy Jean (Risner) Brand. He later married Rebecca Hardin. He then married Judith Carr.

Ronald retired from Rockwell International, Kenton. He was a member of the Bellefontaine First Family Assembly of God Church.

Christiaan Williams and Zach Schmerge

ADA — Freshman Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) and junior Zach Schmerge (Wapakoneta/Wapakoneta) have been named Ohio Athletic Conference Players of the Week for their efforts Ohio Northern's 58-21 victory over Capital, Saturday afternoon.

Williams was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Schmerge earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Williams earned his second Player of the Week honor after rushing 23 times for 127 yards and four scores.

Schmerge led the Polar Bear defense with 15 tackles and a half sack.

The Polar Bears will return home Saturday to host John Carroll under the lights at 6 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
