Reflects their zeal for connecting with students on the learners’ terms

After six years and 1,185 bottles of Diet Dr Pepper, Ohio Northern University professors of biological science Rod Anderson and Linda Young have completed a textbook that reflects their zeal for connecting with students on the learners’ terms.

“Visualizing Microbiology,” published by Wiley, was released in mid-September. The text is available in both hard copy and digital formats and is intended for use in college courses by students pursuing health care academic majors and careers.

A impressive 15% of new students are legacies, according to the Ohio Northern Alumni Journal. Legacies (pictured) means that at least one of their relatives graduated from ONU. The Alumni Journal also reports that the number of new students is up nearly 8% compared to last year. President Dan DiBiasio commented, "The high-quality academic profile of our new student class is similar to previous years and ahead of past years regarding student diversity."

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.
Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.
