Ada's latest news

In an expansion of Ada Icon coverage, "Weekend" edition debuts. This feature expands the Icons to seven-day continual community coverage by bridging the gap with community information from Saturday through Monday morning.

"Weekend" provides information happening in both Ada and Bluffton each weekend and for the coming week.

Ada author Lynne E. Scott will speak at the Ada Public Library from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Her talk will focus on the creative process of writing.

"I plan to discuss how I got ideas for the stories I wrote and the process of writing them  -  the good, the bad, the ugly," she said.

Scott's books will also be available for purchase (each is $10).  They are also available on Amazon in paperback or Kindle versions.

The Cadets will complete their return to Ada with a performance on Monday, June 20, at 7:30 p.m., at the ONU football stadium.

On Thursday, June 23, Ada residents might think for a moment that the clock turned back to the 1920s.

That's because Ada will be visited by nearly 40 Model A Fords. These vehicles range in model year from 1928 to 1931.

They will be on exhibit in the Ada depot parking lot and are part of an all-day celebration.

In cooperation with the Buy Ada First and Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, several activities are planned to entertain the visiting Model A drivers. Some of these activities are open to the public.

Specifically, the first Music on Main luncheon and cruise in of the season takes place in the depot park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
