The Ada High School Music Department's annual spring fever follies concert is at 7 p.m., Friday, May 20, in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door. The evening will be filled with a variety of talents from The Ada Varsity Singers, Ada High School Choir, The Ada Junior Varsity Singers and numerous special numbers.

Sometimes the big one gets away, but not in this case.

This hefty catfish was hauled in during the Liberty Conservation Club annual fishing derby Sunday afternoon. It had no tag for prize money so back into the lake he (or she) went.

The fishing crowd was down a little this year due to cooler than normal temperatures. For some fishermen, cold is no object, ice fishing is fun to them. For others, fishing can wait another day when cold temps and breezes are at hand.

Lyle “Ned” Hall, 81, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 9:38 a.m. at his residence, in Ada, Ohio. 

He was born on March 31, 1935, in Alger, Ohio to Lyle F. and Lecta (Gossard) Hall. They are both deceased. On Nov. 4, 1955, he married Betty L. Gross and she survives in Ada.       

Ned retired in 1991from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. He was a social member of the Ada VFW Post #9381, the Indian Lake Moose Post # 1533 and the Indian Lake Eagles Post #3615. Ned enjoyed retirement at Indian Lake and the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, taking long walks and visiting with people. Ned never knew a stranger.

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) was recently recognized at the Gold Level by The Partnership for Excellence (TPE), Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana’s Performance Excellence Program.
