Melinda Alice Edwards 1932-2015
Melinda Alice Edwards, 83, died on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at 1:50 p.m. at her son’s residence in Lima, Ohio.
Alice was born on July 9, 1932, in Hardin County, Ohio to Kinner and Lottie (Ousley) Cornwell who preceded her in death. In November of 1958 she married Charles Oscar Edwards and he died on Aug. 31, 2003.
Alice was a homemaker. She is survived by her son, Charles “David” (Terri) Edwards of Lima; five grandchildren: Shawn (Megan) Edwards, Chad Edwards, Stefanie (Aaron) Thompson, Joey (Melissa) Oliver and Jennifer Oliver; eight great grandchildren: Caleb, Noah, Ava, Cayden, Bella, Madalynn, Cruz and Olivia; a brother, Bob Cornwell of Lima; two sisters: Shirley (Tom) Brown of Lima and Betty (Harold) Sanders of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by two sons: James Steven Minix and Jon Kevin Edwards; a daughter, Lisa Diane Oliver; and a sister, Bernice Hale.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
