Ohio Northern University will celebrate its 131st Raabe College of Pharmacy Commencement Ceremony in the Sports Center on Sunday, May 10, at 9 a.m.
To commemorate the event, Ohio Sen. Dave Burke, a 1990 ONU pharmacy graduate, will deliver the commencement address for the pharmacy program and receive an honorary degree. Lydia (Weaver) Bailey, a graduating sixth-year pharmacy major from Columbus, Ohio, will deliver the student address.

Keith Krach, chairman and CEO of DocuSign, The Global Standard for Digital Transaction Management, will serve as the undergraduate commencement speaker. Elizabeth Lendrum, a 2015 candidate for graduation in biology from Shreve, Ohio, will serve as the student commencement speaker
James M. Ludwig, 66 died on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 10:05 a.m. at the Ross Heart Hospital at the Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on July 5, 1948 in Allen County, Ohio to Everett F. and Helen A. (Spar) Ludwig and they preceded him in death.
James worked as a carpenter and farmer. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served from December 5, 1967 to September 3, 1971. James was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533 and a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381. He was a 1966 graduate of Ada High School.
He is survived by a brother, Gary (Charolette) Ludwig and a sister, Jacque Sperling both of Ada; many nieces and nephews.
Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law will celebrate its 2015 commencement ceremony in the ONU Sports Center on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. Approximately 100 students will be awarded degrees, and Daniel DiBiasio, Ohio Northern University president, will preside.
The ONU Sports Center is scheduled to open for the commencement exercises at 12:30 p.m. A musical prelude will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the procession of faculty and Juris Doctor candidates.
Nelsy Herbert died April 29, 2015. She was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Clarksburg, W.V. She was the only child of Delbert and Virginia Hovey, both deceased. She graduated from Clarksburg High School and attended Moore University of Art in Philadelphia, until she met and married Vernon D. Herbert, Jr.
They married on May 25, 1946, after Vernon completed a tour with the Army. Nelsy was a homemaker and mother.
The Alger Jr. Farmers 4-H Club held their 1st meeting on April 12th at 1:00 pm at the 235 Grill in Alger. The meeting was called to order by Cecily Preston and the pledge of Allegiance was led by Trevor Dotson followed by the 4-H Pledge led by Cecily Preston.
