David Schakett was a member of the Ohio Northern University College of Business faculty
David Schakett, 61, Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Ohio Northern University, died unexpectedly Nov. 30, 2015.
He was born Sept. 3, 1954 ,in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Bessie (Edelstein) and Jacob Schakett; also preceded in death by his brother, Steven Schakett, and special cousin Dr. George W. Sheppard.
Stuart was a 1972 graduate of Walnut Ridge High School and earned a Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree from Touro University, California.
Stuart was a college professor, currently serving as Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Ohio Northern University.
Prior to relocating to Hancock County, Stuart was a member of Congregation Tifereth Israel.
Stuart is survived by his faithful wife of 22 years, Dr. Tammy J. (Hout) Schakett; Tammy's parents, Richard and Jo Hout; sisters-in-law, Ellen Mastellarini and Kim (Scott) Hewitt; nieces, McKenna and Samantha; cousins, Elaine Sheppard; Hal and Sherie Silverman; colleagues, former students and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, with Rabbi Harold J. Berman officiating.
Interment will follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Stuart gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
