$300 million wind farm on the horizon in USV school district in 2017

A $300 million wind farm is closer to being built with a power purchase agreement signed between EverPower Wind Holdings, Inc., of Pittsburgh and Amazon Web Services, an Amazon.com company.
This is the single largest development project in Hardin County history. Taxing units - including USV school and the Alger/McGuffey area may receive more tax income.
How many turbines?

Where will they be located?
Southwest part of the county including Marion (Alger/McGuffey area), Roundhead, McDonald and Taylor Creek townships.
How much will be paid in taxes?
$1.7 million annually with $200,000 added to the county's general fund. The remaining amount will go to school districts, townships, fire and EMT departments, and libraries. How much each of these will receive (including USV Schools) has not been determined.
Where will the power go?
The electric power the turbines generate will go primarily to Amazon's Cloud data centers in Columbus.
When will construction begin?
In early 2017 with completion set for the end of the year.
How many will it employ?
100 workers during construction; 8-10 during its operation.
How is a wind farm beneficial other than adding to the tax base?
The project exemplifies environmental sustainability by reducing emissions and increasing renewable energy.
