December 1904- Citizens were boasting of the installation of a $1000 magnetic fire alarm system with 15 boxes distributed throughout the town. The James Thomas barber shop sent the first call over the new fire system.
December 1925- Nineteen members of the Sigma Pi fraternity were suspended for the remainder of the school year for promoting and participating in dance in Lima, in violation of the Dance Rule.

MAUMEE - The Ada girls basketball team captured its second consecutive game with a convincing 58-33 road victory at Maumee Valley Country Day Tuesday evening.
The purple and gold evened their record at 3-3 overall with the non-league win. The Lady Bulldogs also improved to 2-2 on the road this season.
Ada junior Maddie Gossard led four Bulldogs in double figures with 14 points.
Ada methodically pulled away in the second half to post the win.
Senior guard Haley Wyss tallied 13 points while senior backcourt mate Alyssa Vore netted 10 points and dished out eight assists. Junior guard Anney Archer scored 10 points as well.
Dale L. Badertscher, 66, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1950 in Bluffton, Ohio, to Harold A. and Margie M. (Morehead) Badertscher who preceded him in death. On Sept. 20, 1975, Dale married Sharon R. Foust and she survives in Ada.
