Do you know a potential “Distinguished Citizen of Ada?”
The Town and Gown Committee wants to know.
The 51st annual Ada Town and Gown Banquet will be held in the McIntosh Center ballroom on the campus of Ohio Northern University on Monday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
An application form is attached at the bottom of this story.
Applications are being accepted for the 2016 winner. The guidelines follow:
• The nominee should be a person who looks at what they can do for others and their community to make a positive impact.
The Arizona Cardinals signed quarterback Zac Dysert to its practice squad this week. Dysert was in training camp with the Miami Dolphins this year before being released in the final roster cuts earlier this month. The Cardinals are going with two quarterbacks on the active roster - Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton - after releasing Matt Barkley.
The Ada Friends Program is gearing up for the 2016-17 school year, according to Lauren Brackman, coordinator of the program. Assistant coordinator this year is Kara Dilts.
Ada Friends involves mentoring between Ohio Northern University students and students in the Ada schools from Kindergarten through eighth grade. This is the 25th year for the program.
Tickets are now on sale for the 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, "Dancing with the Ada Stars." The event is at The Freed Center Biggs Theatre. Performers include Jason Duff, Amy Eddings, Shane Tilton, Kelly Kobiela, Scott Hennings, Karen Kier with special guests The ONU Dancing Company. Tickets details are in the story below.
