July 1993 a group of Ada youngsters created a neat summer pastime playing “rollerblade hockey.” It all started initially with just a few neighborhood kids in the north end of town playing street hockey. They soon found that it was a lot more fun and a lot faster wearing rollerblades.
“A couple of us have been playing hockey for several years,” explains Joel Hauenstein age 11 and a member of the Strikers team. “We got some other kids interested and formed teams.”

Cryolipolysis, better known as CoolSculpting, is a process of freezing fat. For individuals with healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle, cryolipolysis is a safe and effective way to reduce excess fat. CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment but is for individuals at or near their ideal body weight, who want to reduce stubborn fat pockets in one or more of the nine treatment areas approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Ada is official in the record books – the Guinness World Record book, in fact.
Many viewers reading this may have participated in the record-setting event. It was on Friday, Oct. 25 of this year at War Memorial Stadium.
On that autumn afternoon 950 people simultaneously threw an American football – coincidentally, an Ada-made Wilson football – and the rest is history.
The brainchild of Dan Lee, Ada middle and high school principal, Guinness notified him earlier this month of the success of the project, calling it “officially amazing.”
Ada Community:
WE DID IT! The Ada Community now holds a Guinness World Record. According to Guiness, “The most people throwing an American football simultaneously is 950 and was achieved by Ada Schools (USA) with the support of Wilson Football Factory, Ohio Northern University and Liberty National Bank in Ada, Ohio, USA on 25 October 2019.”

With a new name, busy retail store and programs growing in popularity, you’d think the fall season would be busy enough for Beatitudes.
Deb Curlis, store manager, couldn’t let Christmas 2019 pass by without adding a few special events, however, and the facility has been buzzing with holiday activity since before Thanksgiving!
Beatitudes’ Holiday Shopping Extravaganza kicked off on Nov. 11 and runs through Dec. 21. Curlis said the seasonal bargains have been a hit.
“There are lots of Christmas decorations, both gently used and new,” she added. “The prices are so good; you can buy for next year and beyond.”
