Letter: We did it!
Ada Community:
WE DID IT! The Ada Community now holds a Guinness World Record. According to Guiness, “The most people throwing an American football simultaneously is 950 and was achieved by Ada Schools (USA) with the support of Wilson Football Factory, Ohio Northern University and Liberty National Bank in Ada, Ohio, USA on 25 October 2019.”

Ada Schools would like to thank all the people and organizations that made this fun, community event happen.
Thank you to Ohio Northern University for encouraging your students to participate. We appreciate all the specific groups of students that attended including Greek life, academic majors/departments, and athletic teams. Specifically, thank you to Chris Burns-DiBiasio, President Dan DiBiasio, Tom Simmons and Jennifer Lambdin for coordinating the event. Also, thank you to Jack Jeffery for his media support and to Trevor Jones for his great photos.
Thank you to Wilson Football Factory for donating over 1,000 commemorative footballs. Special shout out to Andy Wentling, Plant Manager, for all his help and to Ryan Ulrey for staying late into the evening over many days to custom engrave every single football.
Thank you to Liberty National Bank for sponsoring the Guinness World Record portion of the event. Without the donation, this event would not have been possible. We truly appreciate the work of Bryan Marshall and Corsie Arn to make this sponsorship happen.
We also thank the Ada Park and park manager, Kenny Wolke, for all his help setting up and tearing down the event. To the Ada Fire Department, Ada EMS, Ada Library, Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, Ada Technologies and Visiting Nurses, thank you for volunteering your time to serve as witnesses and stewards who certified the record attempt. We appreciate the Ada Police Department and the Hardin County Sheriff providing security for the event.
From Ada Schools, thank you to Eric Perkins and Brittany Lee for all your work pre-planning the logistics and coordinating the field. Alicia Cook and Shelby Ruhlen were incredibly helpful supervising the check-in process.
Shout out to all the other coordinators listed who played a special role in the event: Kristie Winklejohn, Ben Thaxton, Christena Bowden, Scott Henning, Morgan Bass, Jill Laughlin, Kurt Klingler, Arelene Allison, Kim Light, Cami Nichelson, Gigi Fetter, Robin VanBuskirk, Chanda Smith, Erinn Prater, Kim Light, Traci Breidenbach, Meri Skilliter and Andy Pifer.
Thank you to Ken Colwell for his video footage, to Austin Heil for the drone recordings and to Mayor Dave Retterer and Deb Retterer for participating. We also appreciate all the media sources that covered and supported the event.
Shout out to Wilson the Bulldog and Klondike the Polar Bear for joining us. Finally, thank you to all the community members who joined us on the field to serve as catchers in the toss; we could not have done it without you!
We had an absolute blast participating in this event. It would have been impossible without all the people listed above. We are proud to be part of such a supportive community that comes together to celebrate each other and Ada.
Go Bulldogs!
