Ohio Northern University and Dr. Sarah Waters, associate professor of music will hold the third annual Steel Drum Day at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 in the Presser Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
This year will feature steel bands from Columbus, Ada and Lima. The program will feature up-beat rock and roll, calypso, reggae and Afro-Cuban steel band music.
Ada High School Players will present Agatha Christie’s murder mystery “Then There Were None” this weekend. Curtain time is 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday in the school auditorium. Tickets are only $5. The play is directed by Peg Gordon with Amy Stover the assistant director.

Ada senior Chase Sumner signed a letter of intent to wrestle at the University of Pittsburgh Monday morning at the high school gym.
Sumner was a three-time state qualifier in the Div. III Ohio state wrestling meet in three different weight classes, finishing as high as fourth. He set the Bulldog mat program record for career wins with 151. He also holds the Ada records for pins, takedowns, near falls and total points.

The ONU recycling effort is underway this week when residents of Ada can bring unused or broken electronic devices to Heterick Memorial Library on campus to be properly disposed of.
Devices can be brought to the library between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. through Friday.
Nearly all electronic devices are accepted, including computers, laptops, monitors, mice, keyboards, VCRs, DVD players, speakers, CDs, printers, DVDs, computer cables, cell phones, tablets, scanners, battery chargers.

A SRO crowd of nearly 500 people attended the program. The event was held in the chapel due to cold and wind, but concluded at the site of the sculpture where it was unveiled.
The bronze sculpture, made by artist Tad McKillop, is located between Taft Memorial and the Law Building.
