SPENCERVILLE — The Ada track team competed in its first meet of this chilly, wet spring at Friday’s annual eight-team Spencerville Bearcat Relays.
Marion Local outlasted runner-up Fort Loramie 106-89.5 to grab the boys team title. The Ada boys came in sixth with 34 points.
A pair of second-place finishes by the boys comprised the best Ada relay showing. The trio of junior Brad Clum, senior Zach Breidenbach and freshman Ian Dellifield combined to clear 16-2.
The threesome of sophomore Alex Morgan, Breidenbach and junior Carson Hissong also teamed up to finish second in the pole vault with a combined total of 24 feet even.
Columbus Grove out-pointed Fort Loramie 102-79 to capture the girls team crown. The Ada girls finished sixth with 30 points.
The Lady Bulldogs posted two third-place team finishes. Freshmen Kesewa Akyeampong and Kylie Shafer combined to toss the discus 135-4.
Freshman Paige Cole and soph Abbie James teamed up to clear 8-8 in the high jump.
