NORTON - Former All-American and current senior student-athlete Ian McVey was crowned the 2018 All-Ohio Championships NCAA Division III individual champion as the Ohio Northern men's cross country team put together a strong performance at the Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (33-15 overall) finished the day with 138 total team points to end fourth in the NCAA Division III team standings.
ADA - The #16-ranked Ohio Northern women's volleyball program upended Ohio Athletic Conference foe Marietta College 25-13, 25-11, and 25-12 for a three-set sweep Saturday afternoon inside the ONU Sports Center.
With the victory, the Polar Bears move to 12-3 overall with an undefeated 2-0 mark in OAC action this season. Meanwhile, the Pioneers drop to 8-12 in 2018 and fall to 0-1 in league play.
The Ada Public Library is sponsoring a coloring contest now through the end of the month. Winners receive of each category will win a $15 Amazon gift certificate.
There are five categories by age group from 0-5 years up to adult. Coloring sheets are available at the circulation desk.
The ONU music department will celebrate 90 years of music at Ohio Northern with a coral collage concert at Homecoming. All music alumni are invited to sing in the choir.
The concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 in Presser Hall. The concert will be followed by a dinner for all participants at 8:30 p.m. at Viva Maria’s Restaurant.

John W. Allison, age 92, died on Monday, October 01, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. at his residence in Bluffton.
He was born on October 30, 1925 in Williamsburg, PA to Wilmer M. and Anna Pearl (Sorrick) Allison who preceded him in death. On October 25, 1947 John married Charlotte Lynn and she preceded him in death on January 26, 2009.
John retired from the Pennsylvania Electric Company, where he worked as an electrical engineer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII. John previously lived in Inverness, FL and Clearfield, PA. He was a member of the English Lutheran Church in Bluffton,
