Indoor track and field athletes from 15 colleges and universities competed in the annual Joe Banks Invitational Saturday at the ONU Sports Center, drawing a large crowd seated in the bleachers and a full "infield" of competitors waiting for their event to be called.
Alexia Miller, a freshman on the ONU golf team, practices on a simulator at the ONU Sports Center. She didn't have to travel to Monterey, Calif., to play the course (and pay high fees) when a simulation of the course appeared on the screen. Where she hit the ball and how it arched showed up on the screen after her stroke. She got a little playtime in even though the cold temps in Ada on Saturday weren't conducive to outdoor practice.
DOLA - Visiting Ada held off a late rally and last-second shot to defeat county rival Hardin Northern 58-55 in a hard-fought boys basketball contest Saturday night.
The non-league victory upped the Bulldog record to 4-13, while the hard-luck Polar Bears fell to 2-15 with their 13th straight defeat. "We will take it," said Ada first-year head coach Dre White. "It definitely feels good to win. It was a big night for Hardin Northern, so we knew they would play hard. Give them credit, they shot well."

It was the first-ever Made In Ada Wilson Football Festival.
A midnight Wison Football drop from the Ada depot, plus a Saturday afternoon and evening of Super Bowl previews, a free football movie, tailgating and a 51-football give-away brought hundreds of fans to downtown.
It packed Ada's restaurants and proclaimed to North America that it's really a small town named Ada that makes the foootball go 'round.
The Icon was there taking photos, videos and talking to people.
