The American Red Cross North Central Ohio Chapter responded to a fire on Township Highway 82 in Forest early Friday morning.

The Red Cross provided assistance for two adults including aid for temporary lodging and immediate needs such as food and clothing to those affected. “We’re deeply saddened for those who were impacted by this fire,” said Todd James, Executive Director, North Central Ohio Chapter. “As we continue to help them, we urge everyone to take steps to minimize the risk of a fire occurring in their home.”

On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Ada Police Department was called to the Ada Schools in reference to a written threat that had been discovered on a wall within the school. 

After an investigation by Ada School Administration and the Ada Police Department a student was identified as the writer and no credible threat existed.

The Ada Schools will be handling any disciplinary action while the Ada Police Department continues to its investigation into possible criminal charges.

The undefeated ONU women's basketball team will take on Muskingum at 3 p.m. on Saturday in New Concord.

Saturday's Contest: Ohio Northern enters Saturday matchup ranked No. 6 in both the D3Hoops.com poll and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll. The Muskies are 10-10 overall and 6-7 in the OAC.  Northern is coming off of a 68-43 victory over Baldwin Wallace at ONU on Wednesday.

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's track and field team jumped two spots to No. 16 in the second weekly United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association power rankings. This marks the highest that the Polar Bears (16-6 overall) have ever been nationally.

LIMA - The visiting Ada girls basketball team was defeated by Madison Stolly and Lima Central Catholic 75-52 Thursday evening.

Following the non-league defeat, the Lady Bulldog record dropped to 7-11 overall. Meanwhile, the Lady Thunderbirds improved to 9-11 with the victory.

The T-Birds raced to a 19-3 lead after one period of play and held a commanding 43-16 halftime edge. Ada outscored LCC 36-32 after intermission.

Senior guard Stolly topped all players with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Rosie Williams added 20 for LCC.

Senior guard Haley Wyss led Ada with 17 points, while junior wing Maddie Gossard added 14 markers.

Preschool Story Times will continue on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. with songs, games, crafts, and snacks.

Children in grades 1-5 are invited to be part of the after-school program, called "Tune-In Tuesdays," at 4 p.m. Please note the earlier time. Various events and activities are planned each week including crafts, games, special guests, and snacks.

On Thursdays students of all ages can receive homework help from 4:15-6 p.m.  Parents need to sign up their child by 6 p.m. the day before.

Adult Coloring & Bring Your Own Craft are scheduled for Thursday, Feb 9, from 6-7:30 p.m.
