SENIOR RECITAL: SOPHIA FIELDS, soprano

Sophia Fields is a senior double-major in communications and music from Lima, Ohio, studying in the studio of Lance Ashmore. Assisted by pianist Emily Hanson, her program will consist of over 13 pieces of opera and classical music. Free and open to the public.

Conditions were perfect for viewing the December 4 cold moon over Bluffton. Drone photographer Zac Kohli shares this image of the supermoon, which Space.com says appears up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than other full moons.

Ellis Puckett, age 76, of Alger, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Joint Township Hospital, St. Marys.  

He was born on December 15, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Kelly and Gladys (Hall) Puckett, Sr.   On June 29, 1968, Ellis married Ora (Smith) Puckett, and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2022.

VANLUE__The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team routed Vanlue 40-23 in a Blanchard Valley Conference contest on Thursday, December 4.

The Bulldog girls evened their records at 2-2 overall and 1-1 in BVC play with their first road win in two tries this season.

The Wildcats fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the BVC after the defeat.

“It was good for the girls to get back in the win column,” said Ada head coach Zach Ricker. “It is something to build off of going into Saturday.”

The Bulldogs led 14-7 after the first period as senior Anna Conley poured in eight early points.
