Bob Simmons, former Ada Council member and educator, is the 2025 Citizen of the Year as awarded at the February 28 Ada Distinguished Awards.

“Buckeye Bob” was introduced by Village Administrator Amanda Sears, who noted that he is one person who truly needs no introduction given his associations with “education, service, high school basketball, village council meetings… and a whole lot of scarlet and gray.”

MEDIA RELEASE__Upper Scioto Valley Baseball Outlook

Last year, we had a wonderful season, which included sharing our first NWCC championship since 2012 and winning a sectional championship for the first time since 2005. We feel as though we earned respect in our league. Now the task changes as we are going to get everyone's best shot this year. We hope to relish that challenge and continue to achieve some new goals this season. We feel that if we can get positive pitching contributions from several players and step it up more consistently on offense, we have the potential to have another outstanding season.
