Ohio Northern men's lacrosse head coach Nat St. Laurent has been named one of six head coaches for the new professional lacrosse league, the Premier Lacrosse League.

St. Laurent will remain as head coach of the Ohio Northern men's team, a role he has held since founding the program in 2016.

The PLL unveiled the six head coaches who will lead its teams, beginning in June 2019. It is a group of some of the best leaders, strategists, and innovators that the game has known – headlined by National Lacrosse Hall of Fame member and four-time NCAA national champion, Dom Starsia.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for myself and my family," St. Laurent said. "It will also be an amazing opportunity to be involved in the game of lacrosse at the highest level. I also believe this will elevate Ohio Northern University lacrosse at the same time, giving our student-athletes exposure to lacrosse at the highest level in the world."

St. Laurent is in his fourth season at ONU and has a 31-17 record, a winning percentage of .646.

After founding the program in 2016, he led the Polar Bears to a share of the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title in 2018.

He welcomes back 38 lettermen and all 10 starters back from last year's squad that went 14-3 overall and was 7-1 in the OAC.

St. Laurent has also served as an assistant coach for the Ohio Machine in the Major League Lacrosse from 2016-18.

The Premier Lacrosse League will begin its inaugural season in June 2019, kicking off a 14-week, 12-city season. Six teams, comprised of the best players in the world, will compete throughout a regular season, all-star weekend, playoffs, and championship.
