Ada council passes 2020 appropriations
Ada council passed its 2020 appropriations on Dec. 3. Those follow by fund:
• General fund $2,100,625
• Special revenue funds $859,000
• Capital improvement funds $3,286,950
• Debt service funds $335,000
• Enterprise funds $2,502,350
General funds include elected officials, administration, finance, income tax administration, zoning and planning, police, Hardin Drug, Hardin DUI, public works, health and welfare, tree commission, municipal facilities and transfers out.
Special revenue funds include street, highway and swimming pool funding.
Capital project funds include Lincoln Phase II, Grandview Blvd., Main and North Street manhole reconditioning, Willeke Phase II and municipal building improvements. Some of the capital project funding is held over from 2019.
Debt service funds includes street and swimming pool projects.
Enterprise funds include water, utility deposits, water debt service, sewer, sewer debt, storm sewer, storm sewer debt and refuse funds.
Council approved several end-of-year actions. Among those include:
• contract with Jane Napier as legal counsel for 2020 at an annual salary of $18,000, with hours in excess of 220 hours paid at $102 per hour.
• contract with Michael Harnishfeger as zoning inspector for 2020 at an annual salary of $9,186.
• moving Michael Steele, public works department, from instructional period to full benefits.
• contract with Joann Boutwell, Cleaning of Ada, $11,434 annually.
Council also approved salary increases of 2 percent to four salaried employees and 11 part-time plus part-time police officers, effective 2020.
Salaried employee with 2020 salary follow: Angela Polachek, $47,664; Jamie Hall, $69,591; Patty Navin, $61,200; and Mike Harnishfeger, $73,296.
Hourly employees’ rates of pay will range from part-time of $13.21 per hour to full-time $22.15 per hour.
