Ada Icon and Bluffton Icon editor

Welcome to Ada Icon Highlights, an experiment in providing an overview and print document covering a month of AdaIcon.com news. In May 2025 I talked with a friend who regretted not tuning into the Icon more often. She had missed some obituaries and really felt like she was out of the loop.

That conversation spurred me to create monthly highlights that provide items that are of lasting interest to the community. If this is a feature you'd like to see on a regular basis, I welcome your feedback. Email [email protected] or let me know next time I see you.

The Lima News has reported that a motorcyclist from Ada died on Sunday, August 31, in a crash on U.S. Route 127 at State Rout 274 in Celina.

Timothy Betts, 45, of Ada, was traveling south on a 2016 Harley Davidson when he attempted to pass several cars in a marked no passing zone.

A driver in a 2010 Ford truck attempted to turn east on SR 274 and struck the motorcycle.

Betts was pronounced dead at Mercer Health in Coldwater.

The incident is under investigation.
