JUNE 2 ADA PUBLIC LIBRARY FACEBOOK__Summer Reading is underway, and there’s a lot happening at the library! Here’s a look at our upcoming events in June and July. All programs are free for everyone.
Every Tuesday, come enjoy a family program featuring performers and activities at the library!
Note: The Exotic Zoo (June 10) will take place at the park.
A total of 417 students received their certificates from Apollo Career Center, and Senior Honors Night served as a celebration of the achievements of the Class of 2025.
The Village of Ada Council met on June 3 with several visitors in attendance. Mayor Dave Retterer presided over the meeting which ran from 6:30-8:07 p.m. (The meeting packet from the Village website is HERE.)
OPEN FLOOR
Kara Brown of the Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities told council that an adult-size changing table is available for installation in Ada. She asked council to help find a location. There is no cost associated with the table, unless you need to add electricity for its operation. The table needs to be attached to a permanent location.
Mayor Retterer indicated that interested parties can call the Village with questions. (Phone 419-634-4045.)
JUNE 3 FACEBOOK POST__Due to weather and facility issues being faced by other teams, [the Ada Gators] have had to make some adjustments to our meet schedule in the coming weeks.
The meet on June 9 has been rescheduled to a tri-meet on June 30. It will still be hosted at the Bluffton Pool.
The meet on June 26 against Shawnee will now be a home meet at the Ada Pool.
Dwight Thomas Friesner, age 83, of LaFayette, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 6, 1941 in Middle Point, Ohio to Dwight L. and Datha (Fox) Friesner. On February 18, 1967 Tom married Sharon L. (Jolliff) Friesner and she survives in LaFayette.
Also surviving are his five children: Tim (Merideth) Friesner of LaFayette, Ted (Kristy Leen) Friesner of Cedar Falls, IA, Elizabeth (Mark) Wilson of Delphos, Steven (Jessica) Friesner of LaFayette and Keith (Jennifer) Friesner of LaFayette; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and brother, Harold (Carol) Friesner of Ada.
