TEMPE, Ariz. — Senior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) competed in the 800-meter run on Saturday evening as he represented the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team at the Sun Angel Track Classic in Tempe, Arizona.

The senior competed in the premier section of the race and was the only Division III athlete competing in the event, competing against seven Division I athletes and two professional athletes.

“Matter of Balance,” a free eight-week series of two-hour classes sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging, will begin Tuesday, April 17 from 10:00 a.m.until noon at the Ada Restore Community Center, 210 N Main. Participants will learn about the various risks of falling and how to prevent them. ALLIANCE — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team fell 8-1 at Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at Whitehill Tennis Courts.

The Polar Bears move to 7-6 overall and are 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders improve to 10-2, 4-0.

Junior Jake Abbott (Kenton) and sophomore Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia Academy) won 9-8(4) at No. 2 doubles for Ohio Northern.

In singles play, five of the 13 sets went to a tiebreaker with Mount Union taking four of the five to complete the sweep.

NEW CONCORD — Freshman Sydney Skelding (Dublin, Calif.) tied her career-high with six goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's soccer team to an 18-2 victory at Muskingum on a chilly Saturday afternoon at McConagha Stadium.

The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team posted the first shutout in program history with a 17-0 victory over Muskingum on a sunny but chilly Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears also extended its winning streak to seven games and is now 10-1 overall and 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Muskies fall to 3-7, 0-4.

Northern out-shot Muskingum 70-4, won the ground ball battle 54-27 and won 17-of-19 faceoffs.
