The Ohio Northern women's golf team saw three members earn Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in 2017.
Seniors Jennifer Hipskind (Fort Wayne, Ind./Dwenger) and Ariana Tomasula (Rocky River/Lutheran West) and sophomore Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) all earned the honor.
Hipskind, a pharmacy major, earned her third career Academic All-OAC honor.
The senior ranks sixth on the team, averaging 92.8 strokes per round.
Hipskind is also a Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar.
Tomasula, an accounting major, was named Academic All-OAC for the second time in her career.
Juniors Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) and Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) and head coach Jason Maus have all earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional honors.
Richards won her second consecutive honor as the Great Lakes Region Female Track Athlete of the Year after claiming the same honor during the 2017 indoor season.
She currently owns the fastest time nationally in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs and ranks in the top-5 nationally in the 400-meter dash.
The junior will compete at the national meet in the 800-meter run and in the 1,500-meter run.
On May 21, 2017 Ada Barnyard Farmers had another successful meeting. Recreation was led by Wyatt Ferguson, in which he brought us in with the game Ninga. Role call was led by Melia santillanez and the treasurers report was led by Riley Ferguson. Unfinished business was the talk about the Garage sale. Doris C. Miller Schneider, 95, of Lima, died 2:40 a.m., Mon. May 22, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 6, 1921, in Lima, the daughter of Lawrence A. & Edna C. (Schlosser) Clark, who preceded her in death. On May 23, 1943, she married Marvin L. Miller, and he died April 6, 1985. Then on Oct. 28, 1997, she married Arlington C. "Arlie" Schneider, and he died Oct. 6, 2004.
Mark Light, Hardin County 4-H educator, shared details of the Spark Lab in the Kenton office with the Ada Kiwanis members on May 23. Use of the lab is open to youth, adults, and entrepreneurs and have a variety of maker equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, soldering irons and even sewing machines.
