Ada tree and leaf news
On November 12 a volunteer crew from Sigma Phi Epsilon helped clear the downtown of leaves dropped by the 120-year-old and 110-foot-tall sycamore that is located next to the Ada Theatre on Main Street. A local shopkeeper compared the influx of super-sized leaves to snow drifts.
On October 29, Village of Ada staffer Michelle Brunk was appointed to the Tree Commission by Mayor Retterer. Most commission members have completed a course sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This training includes trimming and pruning trees. These volunteers work to make village trees safer, healthier and more beautiful. Areas of work have included the Industrial Park, Depot Park and tree lawns.
During the week of Thanksgiving, Village of Ada crews will take a break from leaf pickup to hand seasonal banners and lights.
