The show must go on...even with a broken arm. The Ada HS Varsity Singers performed for the local senior citizen following a luncheon. Candyland is the theme of this year's show. Here, singer/dancer Ace Gamble holds a giant Tootsie Roll used in the program. (Monty Siekerman photo)

Paula Scott of Bluffton will offer two workshops in January titled “Improving Business Visibility Online,” hosted by Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs.

She will provide a brief overview of the workshops during Friday’s Dec. 11, Bluffton chamber breakfast in the town hall at 7 a.m.

“What happens when a visitor looks for your Bluffton business with a search engine or app?” asks Scott. “Don’t know. Or, don’t like what you find?”

It's a Christmas story and it had the attention of every student at the Ohio Northern University Pre-School during the Icon's recent visit.

NOTE: James Klingler died on Dec. 8. His wife, Donna, died on Dec. 7. Click here for her obituary. Joint visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

For Icon viewers getting ready to bake for the holidays, you can't have a cookie plate without meringue kisses.

There's probably more recipes for this cookie than any other in Ohio. Here's one we picked from the Ada Sesquicentennial Cookbook, from 2002. This recipe is provided by Ruth Brown.

Ruth Brown's Meringue Kisses

4 egg whites
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
Vanilla

Due to a lack of snow, Santa hitched a ride from an Ada Police Department cruiser. When he stepped out of the car, many children's faces lit up as the Big Guy made his way inside.
He took his appointed place in a chair and began hearing the kids' wishes.

Cookies and hot chocolate were available, as well. Members of the Dance Fusion performed in the parking lot.
