Families caring for loved ones with chronic health needs often feel caught in the middle: You want your loved one to have the best care, but you also want him or her to have the comforts of home. With home health care services the goal is to provide both.
November is National Home Care and Hospice Month. As the name implies, home care simply refers to health services that are delivered in a patient’s home. And the services themselves can be quite diverse.
“Some patients receive rehabilitation therapy or skilled nursing care,” said Claudia Crawford, RN, BSN, CHPN supervisor for Community Health Professionals of Ada.
Construction will start immediately – but first comes the groundbreaking.
St. Rita’s Health Partners broke ground at noon on Monday at 604 W. North Ave., for what will become Mercy Health Ada Family Medicine.
The project, estimated at a cost of $1 million, will result in a family practice open to the needs of the Ada community. It is located between the Ada schools and the Van Crest of Ada nursing home, currently under construction. It is anticipated to be open in April 2016.
Participating in the Ada Family Medicine groundbreaking are (from left) Jon Cross, Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance; County Commissioner Brice Beaman; Ada Mayor Dave Retterer; Tara Miller, director of primary care at St. Rita's Professional Services; Mark Jarvis, developer; Ronda Lehman, COO St. Rita's Professional Services; Herb Schumm, president of St Rita's Professional Services; Deb Curlis, Ada Chamber president; Bob Baxter, St Rita's president and CEO.
