Ada's latest news

It is the season of transition from summer to fall, and for many students from freedom to structure. Many students have a mix of excitement and dread for the upcoming school year. Even with this mixture, students commonly benefit from the increased structure school offers--it is built in socialization, cognitive exercise, physical activity, and provides opportunity for a routine sleep schedule. All students are encouraged to maintain these activities and structures outside of school year but oftentimes it dissipates slowly.

The Ada Exempted Village Schools board of education will hold its September 2021 meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 15.

Board members are Matt Gossman, President; Tom Dearth, Troy Erickson, Ronald Fleming and Dr. Amy Mullins.

The Ada boys soccer team was shut out 5-0 by visiting Liberty-Benton in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener Thursday evening, September 10, at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada fell to 2-2-2 overall and 0-1 in NCOSA play with the loss. L-B improves to 5-1-1 and 1-0 in league action after the win.

Lam Fagan scored two goals to pace the Eagles. Nick Schloemp, Garret Nealis and Quinn Taylor netted one goal apiece.

Ada plays at Upper Sandusky (4-2, 1-0 NCOSA) in another NCOSA bout Saturday at 7 p.m.

The visiting Ada volleyball team lost in straight sets at former league rival Lima Central Catholic Thursday evening, September 9.

The Lady Bulldogs were beaten 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 and dropped to 1-7 after their sixth straight defeat. 

Versatile sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out 11 assists, came up with six digs and three blocks, while also serving an ace and hammering four kills.

Bulldog junior Courtney Sumner mustered a dozen digs and hit two kills while serving a pair of aces.

Senior Lexi White hustled up 16 digs, and classmate Selena Jordan came up with 10 digs.  

Ohio Northern University will commemorate the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks with two events.

A special gathering will be held in the Walter and Marian English Chapel Garden at 8:46 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:40 a.m.

Also, the ONU Veterans Organization will be hosting a stair climb from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Dial-Roberson Stadium to honor first responders and all who lost their lives in the terror attacks.

Ohio Northern President Daniel DiBiasio encouraged the campus community to take part in the memorial events.

The Ada Bulldogs football team has a home conference game on September 10 vs. Leipsic at 7:00 p.m.--on the new turf installed at War Memorial Park.
