Brenna Hissong, Ella Marshall on 1st team • Lauren Mullins on 2nd team • Hailey Robirds HM

DELPHOS - Ada senior Brenna Hissong repeated as a first team All-Northwest Conference soccer player in voting conducted by the league coaches.

The consistent and powerful Hissong was a four-time all-league honoree as a defender and midfielder.

Freshman center-midfielder Ella Marshall also was named first team All-NWC in her first season.

Junior wide midfielder Lauren Mullins earned second team all-conference honors.

Junior defender Hailey Robirds was named honorable mention all-league.

The Lady Bulldogs finished 2-4 in NWC play, good for fifth place in the league.

Megan Light on 2nd team • Kirsten Poling honorable mention

DELPHOS - Two Ada spikers were named to the All-Northwest Conference volleyball team in voting conducted by the league coaches recently.

Senior middle Megan Light was named second team All-NWC. The 5-11 Light led the Lady Bulldogs in kills and blocks. She was a first team all-league pick the last two seasons.

Junior setter Kirsten Poling earned honorable mention all-league. She topped Ada in assists and was among the team leaders in blocks and digs. 

Ada finished 2-6 in the NWC, good for seventh place in the tough nine-team league. 

Each day has a different dress up theme

Ada schools observe Red Ribbon Week Oct 26-30. Red Ribbon Week's focus is drug prevention awareness. Each day of the week has a special theme and dress-up opportunity.

A heavy fog has caused Ada schools to cancel classes today, Thursday, Oct. 22. The school first called a 2-hour delay at 6:18 a.m. Then, at 8:09 a.m. classes were cancelled, according to message on Ohio Alerts.

Lots of things take place at the Ada Public Library aside from offering books to read. Among those special things are monthly craft kits available for youth. This month's kit includes several Halloween-related projects. Stop by the library for your free kit.

Next Monday and Wednesday in executive session

Ada council will hold two meetings in executive session next week to interview potential council candidates. These sessions were set during the Oct. 20 council meeting.

Those interview meetings are set for 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, and noon, Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Letters of interest for the council mid-term vacancy are due by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23.  Letters may be hand delivered or mailed to the village office, attention Council President, or by email to [email protected].
