Leland Crouse is the go-to guy for all things Ada. The retired Ford plant employee and self-professed history buff began tracing his family’s genealogy in the 1990s. Since most of his relatives were from Ada, it led to an interest in the history of the village itself. Then a bequest from the local newspaper really ignited his passion for Ada’s past.
Junior goalkeeper Kelli Hill (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the April 8-14 voting period, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Last week, the Worthington native rewrote the school record books with a program-best 22 saves on a 62.9% save percentage in a 13-7 loss to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday. She went on to secure 14 saves on a 77.8% save percentage in an 18-4 triumph over Marietta, guiding ONU to a 1-1 record on the week.

Loughman was named the OAC Hitter of the Week while Anderson garnered OAC Pitcher of the Week honors after leading the Polar Bears to an undefeated 4-0 record last week over No. 24 Baldwin Wallace and John Carroll.

In 157 years most of the early farms in Liberty Township have changed owners. A few, however, have been passed down through the generations, and descendants of some of the early settlers still grow crops on the land their ancestors cleared. One of these farms is owned by Bob and Anna Mary Shanks on County Road 65. At some time in their lives, seven generations of the Shanks family have called this home.
