The Ohio Northern women's soccer team saw four athletes named All-Great Lakes Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
Senior Hannah Reich (Howell, Mich.) and sophomores Meagan Grierson (Miamisburg) and Haley Moses (Mason) were all named First Team All-Great Lakes Region, while sophomore Rose Nienaber (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) was named Second Team All-Great Lakes Region.
Senior J.J. Fortner (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) has been named Second Team All-Great Lakes Region by the United Soccer Coaches for his efforts during the 2017 season.
Fortner led the Polar Bears (12-6-2 overall) to their 12th consecutive winning campaign and earned his first career All-Great Lakes Region honor.
The senior First Team All-OAC honoree led the team and ranked second in the Ohio Athletic Conference with 14 goals and led the team and ranked third in the OAC with 30 points this season.
Senior Courtney Cramer (Arcadia) poured in a career-high 21 points to the lead the No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team to an 88-49 victory over Case Western Reserve in the 2017-18 home-opener at the ONU Sports Center on Wednesday evening.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-1 overall, while the Spartans drop to 2-3 on the year.
Cramer led the way with a game-high 21 points, while shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point line, and added a game-high five assists and three steals.
ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team dropped a tight 81-79 decision to Alma (Mich.) in their 2017-18 home opener at the ONU Sports Center on Wednesday evening.
The Polar Bears fall to 2-2 overall, while the Scots improve to 1-3.
Northern was led in the contest by senior Nate Burger's (Dayton/Alter) 23-point and 8-assist effort, while junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) tallied 18 points, senior Joey DiOrio (Columbus/Watterson) scored 13 points and junior Daniel Donner(Bellville/Northmor) added 10 points and eight rebounds.
