FROM ADABULLDOGS.ORG__Ada Exempted Village Schools is proud to announce the 2026 Ada High School Hall of Honor Reception, celebrating excellence, service, and Bulldog pride. This year’s reception will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 4:30 PM in the Ada Schools’ Cafeteria. Following the reception, we invite everyone to cheer on the Bulldogs as the Boys Basketball team takes on Delphos. The community is warmly invited to attend and help recognize the outstanding achievements of this year’s honorees.

MEDIA RELEASE__Join Ohio State University Extension for a free event on February 3 to learn more about tar spot in corn, new resources and ask questions about tar spot. 

The program will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ohio State University Extension Office in Hardin County, located at 1021 West Lima Street, Suite 103, Kenton, OH 43326. The program is capped at 30 participants due to space constraints, so pre-registration is required. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Board of Commissioners has approved a new shared leadership model for Hardin County Job and Family Services (HCJFS), partnering with Auglaize County Job and Family Services to provide experienced, stable executive leadership for the agency. Under this agreement, Julie Gossard, current Director of Auglaize County Job and Family Services, will also serve as Director for Hardin County Job and Family Services effective January 1, 2026. Julie will remain a full-time employee of Auglaize County, while Hardin County fills a full-time Social Services Administrator/Assistant Director position to provide on-site daily leadership and operational oversight.

FROM FACEBOOK__At the Ada Police Department annual Department Christmas Party and Awards Dinner, Officer Aaron Everhart was presented with a Departmental Citation in recognition of his actions during an incident that occurred in September 2025. MORE ▶︎

Theresa A. Greene, age 55, of McGuffey, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. 

Theresa was born on December 24, 1970, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Robert Bricker and Nancy (Mariner) Cannady.  Also preceding her in death is her sister. 

On March 20, 2018 Theresa married Larry C. Greene, Jr. of McGuffey. Also surviving are two sons: Alan Bricker of Bellefontaine and James Godwin of Kenton; daughter, Christina (Dustin) Stewart of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren: Samantha, Ariana, Elizabeth, Abriella and Hayden; two brothers: Terry (Donna) Bricker and Steve (Lori) Bricker; and stepmother, Arlene (Chris) Knopp.
