Sharon K. Lease, age 77, of Lima, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. 

She was born on July 21, 1948, in Kenton, Ohio, to Waldo and Annis (Conley) Oglesbee. On July 1, 1966, Sharon married Arthur Lease, and he survives in Lima. 

Also surviving are her two sons: Darren (Sunny) Lease of North Lewisburg and Jeff (Lynn) Lease of Venice, FL; five grandchildren: Dalton, Batai, Savannah, Hershel and Larry; a sister-in-law, Dana Oglesbee; brother-in-law, Dana (Rhonda) Lease; and nephews: Kyle Oglesbee and Barry James Lease. 

MEDIA RELEASE__OhioHealth is taking a significant step forward in its commitment to protect its patients, associates, and visitors and prevent workplace violence. By the end of 2025, OhioHealth hospitals and emergency departments will have metal detectors at public entrances.

Starting December 16, OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital will begin screening all visitors, associates, and providers at its main and emergency entrances. In addition, the main entrance will be accessible between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

School is cancelled on Tuesday, December 2, in the Ada Exempted Village School District.

FROM FACEBOOK__Due to wintry conditions, ONU’s campus is operating on a 3-hour delay on Tuesday, Dec. 2. In-person classes will begin and administrative offices will open at 11 a.m. Classes that are scheduled to begin prior to 11 a.m. may move to virtual instruction.

Public safety, physical plant staff and other essential personnel are to report as normally scheduled.

Dining facilities, Starbucks, The Inn, and Healthwise Pharmacy will follow their regular schedule.

All academic buildings, Heterick Memorial Library, Taggart Law Library, King Horn, the Mercy Health-ONU Counseling Center and the Health Center will be closed until 11 a.m.

MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton Ohio Historical Society (BOHS) has been selected to receive one of 40 Ohio Preservation Kits designed to help small cultural organizations protect their historical documents. 

Charles VanDyne, age 95, of Ada, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his residence.  

He was born on September 19, 1930, in Marion Township, Hardin County, Ohio, to Okey and Ethel (Preston) VanDyne, who preceded him in death.  

Charles was a 1948 graduate of Ada High School. In 1952, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Northern University and his Juris Doctor of Law degree in 1954, also from Ohio Northern University.  Charles served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 during the Korean Conflict.
