Judith Ann (Shenkemeyer) Arnold obituary
Judith Ann (Shenkemeyer) Arnold, age 78, of Harrod, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
Judy was born to William and Jane (Waters) Shenkemeyer on May 27, 1944, in Johnstown, PA. After high school graduation she left her beloved Laurel thickets and Laurel mountains to attend Bowling Green University. A blind date with her future husband, Dennis L. Arnold, made Lafayette, Ohio her forever home. Judith and Dennis were united in marriage on August 29, 1964. To this union two sons were born, Steve and Greg.
Judy was a private person, enjoyed making a home for her family, cooking and escaping to her books. She always had a love for her pups and cats, a little light went out of her when she felt she couldn’t care for another beloved Labrador. She worked at Lima Memorial hospital until she decided that she was meant to be at home taking care of her boys. When times got tight, later she worked at Blanchard Valley Hospital, loved her time at Harrod Veterinary Clinic and many in town thought she made the best pizzas at Pete’s Party Shop.
Judy is survived by son Steve, daughter in law Robyn, granddaughter Katherine and grandson Joshua, all of Rugby, ND. Son Greg, of Harrod, OH and grandson Dennis Arnold. Her brother Robert Shenkemeyer, of Winston-Salem, NC, also survives.
At Judith’s request no funeral services are planned. A prayer and kind word are appreciated by the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Lafayette Jackson EMS, in Judy’s memory.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mennonite Memorial Home for their care during the last couple years and Bridge Hospice for their care at the end.
