Gladys Irene Hall was a librarian
Gladys Irene Hall, age 93, of Ada, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Betty House at Willow Ridge, Bluffton.
She was born January 29, 1930 in Franklin Furnace, Ohio to Boyd and Clora (Dotson) Hall. She was the ninth child.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Kelly, Homer, Hobart, and Russell Hall; and four sisters, Zella Patton, Della Gullett, Velva Conley and Beatrice Mears. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Photo HERE.
Miss Hall was a member of First Baptist Church, Ada, Ohio. She graduated from Alger High School, received a B.S. Degree in Education from Ohio Northern University and an M.L.S. in Library Science from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She worked in Fostoria, Ohio, and Kern County, California. She was also the head librarian at the Allen County Public Library and taught elementary school for many years. After retirement Irene worked at the Sue Bennett College Library in London, Kentucky as a VISTA volunteer and the Ohio Northern University switchboard. She volunteered at the Etc. Shop in Bluffton for a few years, and the Kenton Senior Center.
Graveside services will begin at 2:30 PM on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Preston Cemetery, Alger with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada First Baptist Church, and/or the charity of the donor’s choice.
