The Ada Board of Education met on Thursday, June 25, with board president Matt Gossman conducting the meeting. The first item of business was the appointment of new board member Matt Fisher, following Justin Hollon's resignation. Treasurer Tessa McVey administered the oath. Jay Salyer was elected Vice President.
ADA __The Ada Gators summer swim team split a dual meet with visiting county rival Kenton Area Swim Team in their last home meet of the regular season on Thursday evening, June 25 at the Ada Municipal Pool.
The Gator boys defeated the Stingray males 156-140 in their dual meet. The Ada boys improved to 4-3 this summer with the close win.
The KAST girls defeated the Ada females, 245-152. The Stingrays won the combined boys/girls meet, 385-308.
“We had a lot of swimmers in the water,” said Ada head coach Dave Lusk. “Many are young swimmers. That bodes well for the future. Overall, it was a great team effort.”
MEDIA RELEASE__The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:43 p.m. on June 25, 2026. The crash started on US-30 West and ended on Napoleon Road in Richland Township, Allen County.
Rachel Young, age 48, from Lima, was operating a 2013 Mack Dump Truck traveling west on US-30, loaded with rocks. The truck reportedly suffered a tire blowout, causing Young to drive off the left side of the road and into the median. The Mack struck and drove through a guardrail, drove down an embankment and struck another guardrail prior to striking the pavement of Napoleon Road.
FROM FACEBOOK__Celebrating America's 250th anniversary, the 6th annual Pride of Ada Fireworks will take place at about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 at War Memorial Park. Fireworks will launch from the baseball fields. Food trucks will begin serving at 5:00 p.m.
