CONVOY __ The visiting Ada High School softball team led Crestview 9-2 in the fourth inning when rain halted play in a Northwest Conference battle Monday, April 29.
The contest will be resumed and finished at a later date to be announced.
The Bulldogs remain 12-2 overall and sit atop the NWC at 4-0. They are riding a seven-game win streak.
Lincolnview (13-2) pulled into a first-place tie with Ada in the NWC standings at 4-0 with a 12-2 win over Allen East Monday.
Defending champion Crestview is just 5-10 overall, but is still in contention for the league title at 3-1 in NWC play. Leipsic also remains in title contention at 3-1 in the NWC following a 10-4 win over Delphos Jefferson Monday.
Ada is slated to visit Waynesfield-Goshen (6-5) in a non-league makeup game Tuesday, April 30. W-G whipped Ridgemont 14-0 Monday evening in five innings.
Ada was seeded second in the 12-team Div. IV sectional tournament draw Sunday, and received a first round bye. The Bulldogs will host the winner of the Waynesfield-Goshen/St. Henry (6-9) first round contest at Ada Thursday, May 9 at 5 p.m.
SH was seeded fourth and W-G seventh. The Redskins eliminated Ada from the sectionals last spring.
The winner advances to the Wapakoneta district. State-ranked number one Minster (22-1) was seeded first in the 12-team draw.
Fifth seed USV (7-6) will host six seed Hardin Northern (6-7) Monday, May 6 in a battle of county rivals. The winner will travel to face third seed New Bremen (8-9) May 9.
