Bulldog boys soccer blanks Old Fort

ADA__The Ada High School boys soccer team convincingly defeated visiting Old Fort 5-0 in a non-league match at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 13.
Ada junior Andrew Allen tallied four goals for the second consecutive match to pace the victorious offense.
The win boosted the Bulldog season record to 6-2-1.
The Stockaders fell to 2-5-1 after the shutout defeat.
“We controlled the midfield from the start, which allowed us to dictate the game and create plenty of opportunities,” said second-year Ada head coach Aaron Acheson.
“A four-goal performance by Andrew Allen is outstanding, especially with three of them being unassisted,” he noted. “It shows confidence and quality in finishing.”
Allen scored unassisted in the 28th minute to put Ada ahead for good.
Four minutes later, Allen drew a foul in the box and netted the ensuing penalty kick for a 2-0 lead.
Senior Joshua Thaxton scored a goal off a deflected ball with 13 minutes left in the first half to extend the margin to 3-0.
In the second half, Allen tallied another unassisted goal with 21:54 remaining to stretch the lead to 4-0.
Thaxton then assisted his fourth goal with 15:35 left to play to provide the final margin.
“Joshua Thaxton’s goal and assist gave us balance up top, showing we can score in multiple ways,” Acheson noted. “Defensively, the backline stayed organized and composed, and Jacob made four good saves.
“It was a complete team effort from front to back,” he added.
Ada put 16 shots on goal compared to five by OF. “Out-shooting them 16-5 was good because we kept the pressure on and finished the job,” said the coach.
Bulldog keeper Jacob Rush made four saves in goal. “Jacob really continues to read the game really well,” said Acheson.
Ada (1-1 NCOSA) hosts tough league foe Liberty-Benton (7-1-1, 2-0 NCOSA) on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
