Lady Bulldogs rally late past HN, earn 1st win

By Cort Reynolds
DOLA - The Ada girls basketball team finished on a 7-2 run to upend county foe Hardin Northern 36-31 Tuesday night in a tight non-league basketball rivalry battle.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 1-1 with the hard-fought road win. HN fell to 0-4 with the difficult defeat after leading most of the game.

"We started out flat and couldn't finish throughout the game until the end," said Ada second-year head coach Morgan Bass. "(But) when it really counted, we picked it up and finished when it mattered most."

A mother's musings

When is it appropriate to lie to your children?

The reason I'm even asking myself that question is because my father-in-law has severe dementia/Alzheimer's and there are scenarios where lying to him is actually the best thing to do for him, in that moment.

When my father-in-law first went into the nursing home, he was perpetually panicky about the cost of his care and would demand my husband tell him how much was in his bank account. In this case, lying to him was the best thing to do.

So, when is it appropriate to lie to your children?
