HEARING OF THE PUBLIC
Keith Horner, superintendent of the Apollo Career Center, presented an update to the board.
At the October 17 meeting of the Ada-Liberty EMS board, the agenda included routine activities such as paying bills as well as business conducted once in every 20-some years: a replacement levy on the November 8 ballot.
The proposed levy would allow Chief Tom Miller to staff the station with two employees during the day and, later, to improve the station to allow staff to sleep overnight in beds rather than on a couch or in their cars.

OLD BUSINESS
Council member Sheila Coressel reported on the Monday, October 17 meeting of the Ada-Liberty ambulance board. She shared information sheets regarding a proposed EMS levy that will be on the November 8 general election ballot.
On October 4, the Ada Council held a special meeting of the whole to discuss turning Buckeye Ave. into a one-way street between Johnson and Gilbert streets.
Village Administrator Jamie Hall presented the findings from a study by the Choice One engineering firm. Visibility issues, pedestrian safety and backup from the carryout drive-through at the corner Main and Buckeye were mentioned among reasons this change is being considered.
CORRECTION: Council members abstaining from the Grandview Blvd. assessment motion has been corrected to show that Linda Mason abstained; Sheila Coressel voted in support.
The October 4 regular meeting of the Ada Council convened with all members present, as well as three visitors in addition to reporters. (Packet here)
