DEFIANCE__The Ada High School swim teams competed in a five-team meet at Defiance Ayersville on Thursday, January 8.
Host Ayersville won all four dual meets, while the Pilot girls were 3-1.
Defiance, Elida and Fostoria also competed with Ada and the Pilots.
Junior Tim Chrissobolis touched first in the 100 butterfly and ended up second in the 100 breaststroke to pace the Ada boys.
Senior Lydia Demascio touched first in the 200 freestyle and also won the 100 backstroke. Senior Alyssa Nau won the 100 breaststroke and took second in the 100 free.
FINDLAY __The visiting Ada High School boys basketball team suffered through a cold night offensively as they lost 52-21 to perennial Blanchard Valley Conference power Liberty-Benton on Friday, January 9.
Ada trailed 14-9 after a low-scoring first half. L-B then broke away to outscore the Bulldogs 38-12 in the second half and win by 31.
Ada hung within striking distance after a 14-7 third quarter, down 28-16 heading into the fourth stanza.

MEDIA RELEASE__Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart is inviting all Hardin County residents to attend Coffee With the Sheriff on Thursday January 15, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Jitterz Coffee Company, 23 N. Detroit St., Kenton.
The informal gathering will provide Hardin County residents the opportunity to enjoy good coffee (courtesy of the Sheriff) and casual conversation with the Sheriff and members of his staff.
Those attending are encouraged to ask questions concerning the Sheriff's Office and law enforcement efforts; voice concerns and offer their compliments. Residents may encourage friends and neighbors to attend with them.
