SEPT 10 MEDIA RELEASE__The United Way of Hardin County is proud to announce the official renaming of its beloved annual fundraiser as the "Linda Garmon Memorial Mini Football Drop" in honor of long-time supporter and community champion, Linda Garmon.

Linda’s enduring dedication to the mission of United Way and her enthusiastic support of this annual event made a lasting impact on Hardin County. For years, she worked tirelessly to promote community involvement, encourage charitable giving, and ensure that local programs received the support they needed to thrive.

SEPT 10 MEDIA RELEASE__Rainfall totals across the county were disappointingly low in the month of August.

Crops are drying down rapidly in some areas of the county which means harvesting equipment will be seen on the roads. Please remember to be patient on roadways and remember to share the road so everyone can return home safely to their families.

FINDLAY__The Ada High School boys golf team dropped a closely-contested Blanchard Valley Conference triangular match at Arlington on Findlay’s Sycamore Springs Golf Course on Wednesday, September 10.

The improving Bulldogs fashioned a season-low stroke total.

Ada junior Brody Rister fired a 44 on the par-36 front nine to win match medalist honors. He tied with Arcadia’s Owen Green and Red Devil Deuce Davis.

Arcadia won the event as they totaled 189 strokes to 194 by Arlington, with Ada a close third at 199.

ADA__ The Ada High School girls soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with visiting Riverdale in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match under the lights at War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, September 10.

The Bulldog girls are now 9-1-1 overall and 0-1-1 in NCOSA play after the tie.

The Falcons are 1-3-2 and 0-0-2 in NCOSA action following the result. 

“Riverdale is always good competition for us and tonight was no different,” said Ada fourth-year head coach Doug Dewese. “We heard from multiple Riverdale fans that they played one of their best games all season tonight.

SEPT 10 MEDIA RELEASE– On September 10, 2025, at approximately 10:13 A.M., the Lima Post of The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 75, near SR 81 in Bath Township, Allen County. 

Mazen Mammo, age 37, from Madison Heights, Michigan, was operating a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia semi southbound on Interstate 75. Nardini Salvatore, age 63, from Jacksonville, Florida was operating a 2020 Volvo 860 semi, stopped in traffic southbound on Interstate 75. Jean Fervil, age 73, from McDonough, Georgia was operating a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia semi, stopped in traffic southbound on Interstate 75. Mr. Mammo’s vehicle struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Mr. Salvatore. The vehicle driven by Mr. Salvatore was pushed into the vehicle driven by Mr. Fervil. Mr. Mammo’s vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash.

ADA__The Ada High School boys soccer team defeated visiting Riverdale 4-1 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match at War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, September 10.

Quick and aggressive Ada junior Andrew Allen pumped in all four goals to pace the Bulldogs to victory.

The victory upped the Bulldog season record to 5-2-1 overall and 1-1 in NCOSA play. Ada also gained a small measure of revenge vs. the Falcons after losing two close games to Riverdale last season, including a 3-2 district semifinal defeat.

The Falcons fell to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in NCOSA action with the defeat.
