Apollo Career Center's Floral Shop will begin its annual flower sale Tuesday, May 8, and run through Friday, May 11. The shop will be open daily 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. The greenhouses are full of annuals, perennials, and hanging baskets, and the shop has a large assortment of silk arrangements and collectibles just in time for Mothers' Day.

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.
The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.
MIDDLE POINT - The visiting Ada softball team scored four runs in the top of the eighth to beat Lincolnview 10-6 in a Northwest Conference extra-inning road battle Monday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 12-6 and 4-3 in the NWC with the hard-fought win. The Lady Lancers fell to 7-8 and 1-5 in league play with the loss.
Both teams scored two runs in the sixth inning to tie it again, 6-6. After a scoreless seventh, the Bulldogs erupted for four runs in the top of the eighth to win it.
