On Friday, June 14, the following seven competitors will vie for Queen of the NOVFA Convention in Ada, Ohio. The 5:00 p.m. competition will take place at Liberty Oaks, which has donated use of the venue to the Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Firemen's Association.
Jadyn Cupp, is the daughter of Diane and Eric Cupp. She attends Leipsic High School and is the Queen for Leipsic Volunteer Fire Department. Her school activities are volleyball, softball and Spanish club.
Katelynn Metzger, is the daughter of Chad and Jessica Metzger. She attends Ada High School and is the Queen for Ada-Liberty Twp Volunteer Fire Department. Her school activities are show choir, cheerleading, track, FFA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Language club and Junior fairboard.
A Pond Clinic sponsored by the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and OSU Extension, Hardin County will be held on Tuesday, June 11, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Pond owners and prospective pond owners are invited to the clinic being held at the Liberty Conservation Club, 1552 State Route 235, Ada.
Eugene Braig, Program Director, Aquatic Ecosystems from The Ohio State University Extension School of Environmental and Natural Resources will discuss weed management, fish stocking, and how to keep your pond ecosystem in balance so plants and fish co-exist.

On Friday and Saturday, June 14-15, the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department is hosting a big, big, big celebration for the 150th anniversary of the Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Firemen’s Association.
HARDIN COUNTY__The United Way of Hardin County is excited to announce their upcoming Golf Outing, That’s Putting it Nicely.
The outing will take place on June 22nd at the Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton, Ohio, with a shot gun start beginning at 9:00 a.m. Companies and individuals interested in sponsoring a hole or cart are asked to contact the United Way office at 419-675-1860. Teams of four with a minimum handicap of 55 are encouraged to register.
Registration cost includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and prize opportunities. All proceeds from the event will go towards the 2023/24 United Way of Hardin County annual campaign.
