Of ducks, mulch, and scholarships

Poster animals for Ada Lions mulch sale

By Monty Siekerman
One fine morning this week found Mr. and Mrs. Mallard resting in a front yard on West North Avenue.

The couple apparently approved of the recently mulched area of birch trees and hosta plants, which leads me into a "commercial" for the Ada Lions Club mulch sale.

Most Saturdays in May have been rainy, putting a damper in the service club's main project of raising money for scholarships for graduating Ada High School students. Thus, the club is extending its sale into June so gardeners can order more mulch and the club can earn more money for scholarships.
