Baby - it was cold outside. Over the past seven days low temperatures in the area bottomed out at 4 degrees, 5 degrees and 7 degrees. Jan. 28 was the first day when the low was above freezing. Here's the recent seven-day high, low and precipitation report from the Icon weather observer.
Actually, "no, thank you." The Ada McDonald's thermometer read 16 degrees on Wednesday. (The service station on North Main and 81 read 17 - but it didn't seem any warmer there.)
But, there's good news in the forecast. Depending upon which weather forecast you like, just like the stock market, the thermometer is on the rise.
We understand Friday's high will be 19, then we hit a hot streak: 25 predicted high on Saturday, 25 on Sunday, 28 on Monday - can you believe this - 37 on Tuesday, 46 on Wednesday.
Next thing you know we'll worry about the trees budding too early.
The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce held its celebration dinner on Jan. 16 and announced significant dates for 2013 and made Board of Director appointments for 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Apollo Career Center will hold Apollopalooza on January 29, 2013, 5:30-7 p.m., to kick-off National Career and Technical Education Month, which runs through February according to Dana Dukes Norton, community relations liaison.
Apollopalooza will showcase both the high school and adult education programs. The event is free and open to the public.
